Even though the Lewis-Clark Valley Chamber supported it, Mike Kingsley voted against the Main Street Fairness (H 578) act that required out-of-state, on-line retailers to collect and pay sales tax, just as has always been required of local business. Fortunately he was in the minority and this bill passed in the Idaho Legislature. Leveling that playing field helps local business better compete and protects and creates local jobs. Failure to collect this tax costs the rest of taxpayers an estimated $30,000,000 each year.
You deserve better.
